HMS Gannet - Dry-docking 2009

In September 2009 Gannet was dry-docked so the hull could be cleaned and inspected with any necessary repairs being completed.

The lower part of the hull is sheathed in copper which protected against wood boring creatures.  When dry-docked and cleaned, the copper sheathing was found to be in very good condition and there was no sign of any damage to either the copper sheathing or hull.  The ship was refloated again after approximately three weeks in dry-dock.

The following series of photographs show the dry-docking.
