HMS Cavalier - General Photographs The image on the left shows HMS Cavalier's starboard side and is taken from the head of Number 2 Dock, at the Historic Dockyard Chatham where Cavalier now resides. The ship is dressed which is done either for special occasions or during the July-August holiday periods when visitor numbers are at their peak. Access for visitors is via the brow on the port side which requires a steep climb as it is inclined leading onto the fore deck. Alternative access for visitors with mobility difficulties can be gained via the starboard side brow (seen in this picture) which provides level access to the shop. This route is not used normally as it means passing along the side of the dock which is used for maintenance access and has several obstructions. Above are views of: 1. Fordeck facing towards the Bridge, 2. Port side view forward from Torpedo Deck and 3. Starboard side Squid Mortar being repainted. The photograph below is a panoramic shot (made by merging three photos together) of the Captains Day Cabin. The next picture is a panoramic view of the Wardroom - made by using the same process as the one above. Next are two pictures taken on the Bridge. The one to the right shows the Captains Chair. Everyone else had to stand!
